About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

fly then cruise

Four of us from the uk are flying to Beijing, staying in a hotel for two nights then boarding our cruise ship, Quantum of the sea. October 5th to cruise around Asia, not returning to China. Would a transit visa work for us? Many thanks.

You don’t need a transit visa.

To be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, you have to fulfill two following conditions:

- Your flight to Beijing should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its first port of call
- Your cruise should not have its first port of call, immediately after Beijing (Tianjin), in mainland China

If your itinerary has fulfilled all the above conditions, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing.
