Katie, you have failed to supply us with so many missing information. Who knows, maybe you are eligible for visa free transit in Shanghai twice!? Here are the conditions you have to fulfill and you will be able to see whether you are eligible:

- Your flight to Shanghai should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its first port of call
- Your cruise should not have its first port of call, immediately after Shanghai, in mainland China
- Your cruise should not have its last port call, immediately before Shanghai, in mainland China
- Your flight from Shanghai should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its last port of call

If your itinerary has fulfilled all the above conditions, you are definitely eligible for visa free transit in Shanghai twice.
