About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Temporary residence permit to student visa

If I am just coming off a job that still has a valid temporary residence permit and i wish to study for in China for 1 year can i overturn my temporary residence permit to a student visa x1 or x2? Within China?

well, you could go to the neaby Public Security Bureau (PSB) Exit and Entry Administration office and ask if you do it.

Hi C, I'm wondering the same thing myself. Have you gone to the PSB already and asked if the officers can do this for you? I'll be going tomorrow and would love some insight if you've already gone!

Hi C! Good news, you should be able to apply for your study residence permit coming off your working visa with valid temp residence permit. You need to make sure you have your apply letter from the university and JW202 yellow form as well as all the other docs for a normal residence permit application.
