About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Multiple transit visa for 144h

Me and my family are going to fly from switzerland
With stop in helsinki to shanghai. Arriving date will be the 9th oct. Leave shanghai to taipeh on 13.0ct.

After spending 3 days in taipeh we will fly to beijing. On 21.oct we will fly back to switzerland.

Is a 144h transit visa possible for both times within such a short time?

Is it necessary that the further flight ticket in my case, taipei and switzerland, has a confirmed seat? If this is necessary i have to book and pay this service extra.

Now i have only a e- ticket with no seat assigned.

Yes, it is. Both, your itinerary and your planned dates are definitely fine for 144 hour visa free transit in both Shanghai and Beijing within the mentioned time frame.

You should just take care that your flights to and from your mainland Chinese cities don't have any additional landing within mainland China!

In the terminology used for visa free transit options in China, a term "confirmed seat" does not actually mean the number of the seat, but a confirmed ticket. In other words, this term is used to tell to the prospective passengers not to use standby tickets. You really don't need to pay for any additional service. You should just print out your e-tickets and have them in hard copy. This is more than enough.
