About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have a 15 hour, 50 minute layover in Beijing. Do I need a transit visa?

I am flying from JFK, changing flights in Beijing. I will not leave the airport .

It is important that your itinerary has its next destination, immediately after Beijing, in some other (third) country. If that is the case, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Beijing. By the way, if you wish, since you have almost 16 hours of layover, you can apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing to make a stroll in the city.
