About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Is it possible to change resident permit from S1(family) to Student (X1) without leaving China

I am student in China and had a valid resident permit. My wife is also with me and had a resident permit too. Now she also got admission in the university and need to change her residency status to student. Is it possible to change it without leaving China?

Yes, it's possible. She can apply for an X1 first, and then renew her residence permit.

Hi and what about vice versa if want to change x1 to s1 is it possible to change within china?
