About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

fly to Shanghai PVG and leave on a cruise port from Shanghai

Arriving Shanghai on Feb. 28, 2020, staying at a friend's home in Shanghai for one night, boarding a cruise ship in Shanghai cruise port, cruise ship leaves Shanghai March 1 2020,at 18:00, do we (party of two) qualify for the 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit in China? We carry Canadian passport.

Daniel, you didn't mention from where will you arrive in Shanghai. OK, I will assume that it is Canada or US.

So, if i'm right, you entire itinerary has to fulfill the following conditions:

- Your flight to Shanghai should not have any additional landing in mainland China and the country where your cruise will have its first port call.
- Your cruise should not have its first port call in mainland China

If the above conditions are fulfilled, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area.
