About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Seattle to Beijing to Malaysia. Japan to Tianjin to Seattle

I am flying from Seattle, US to Beijing. I will be staying in Beijing for 2 days and flying to Malaysia. 2 weeks later, I will be flying from Japan to Tianjin for a day and flying back to Seattle. Do these two trips qualify for thr 144 hr visa free transit?

Yes. You are absolutely correct. I will be flying from Beijing to Seattle after arriving in Tianjin from Japan. I have two followup questions to this:

So the 144 or 24 hr transit free visa can be used two weeks apart? There is no limit in a year?

Also, the flight from Seattle to Beijing is a roundtrip back to Seattle. However, I will be flying to Malaysia from Beijing. That should be okay as I will be flying to different countries in transit as mentioned above?

Bill, 24/ 144h visa exemption transit can be used two weeks apart. Plus, It is OK if you will be flying to different countries in transit.

Yes, of course. Your both itineraries are eligible for visa free transit in Beijing area.

You should just keep in mind that your flights should not have any additional landings within mainland China and your flight from China to Seattle should not have a stop in Japan. Also, I assume that you will fly from Beijing to Seattle and not from Tianjin.

One more detail. Your first stop in China will be definitely covered by 144 hour visa free transit and the second one by 144 or 24 hour visa free transit. It all depends on how many hours will you have between your scheduled arrival in Tianjin until your scheduled departure from Beijing. In every case, you will travel visa free.
