About:Visa on Arrival

One day visit to Shenzhen from HK (US citizen)

Hello, I am from the USA and I will travel to Shenzhen from Hong Kong (same day round trip), by bullet train. Is it possible to apply for the visa at the train station? Is it Shenzhen North Station?

No, it is not possible to use a bullet train to travel in Shenzhen on VOA. There are designated border crossings where you can obtain Shenzhen VOA and my recommendation is Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing. You can reach it by MTR train, then you will walk shortly and after your VOA is granted, you will proceed by Shenzhen metro to the center of the city. You can exit Shenzhen to Hong Kong by a biullet train.

Keep in mind that a Shenzhen VOA is quite pricy for US citizens. The price is eactly 956 CNY. It is advisable to bring that amount in Chinese cash and you can easily obtain it at one of many Hong Kong money changers.
