Does the 144hours visa free have to be less than 144hours?

I will be arriving in Shanghai at 18:20 on 14th September and planning to take the flight to Australia at 20:15 on 20th, it looks like just over 146 hours if you count from the time of my arrival and the departure.
I made online application and there was no alarming message for me. I am just wondering how I know my application gets approved or not.
Thanks

Lisa, it counts from 00:00 of the day following passengers' arrival. That is to say, the allowed time to stay is actually longer than 144 hours.
