About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Madrid - Shanghai - HongKong - Shenzhen (train) - Manila

Hi,

As UK citizen, I m planning to apply for a Transit Visa in Shanghai on Arrival.
I then need to fly to HongKong and enter again in Shenzhen, before leaving the following day to Manila.
1. Can I apply for a second transit visa with 48hrs in a different port of entry?
2. Can I apply for a transit visa in Shenzhen train station (where HK trains arrive?)

Thanks,

You just can apply for a transit visa at the embassy in your country of resident not at the airport in Shanghai or any other place in China.

I think that here we have some problems with the terminology.

In reality, I think that you wanted to say that you suppose to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit with the itinerary:

Madrid - Shanghai - Hong Kong

Really, you are if those are all the stops within the itinerary.

Also, you can obtain Shenzhen VOA by traveling from Hong Kong to Shenzhen at the border crossing, preferably at Lo Wu / Luohu. Keep in mind that you cannot use a direct train, but local MTR train to Lo Wu, then a short walk to Luohu where you will apply and obtain Shenzhen VOA and continue by metro to the center of the city. You can take a flight from Shenzhen to Manila, but you should keep in mind that this flight should not have any additional landings within mainland China.

To conclude, you will travel and stay in Shanghai using 144 hour visa free transit and to reach Shenzhen, you will apply for Shenzhen VOA at the border crossing.
