Hi, we will be docking in Tianjin after a 5 day cruise and then onward to Beijing for 3 days

You are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing in principle. To be certain, your itinerary has to fulfill the following conditions:

- You didn't mention from where your cruise will arrive, so I will assume from some other country, different than mainland China
- Your last port call, immediately before Tianjin, should not be in mainland China
- Your flight from Beijing to UK should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in the country where you had your last port call, immediately before Tianjin

You will apply for 144 hour visa free transit upon your arrival in Tianjin and you don't have to do anything in advance. Of course, you have to check your itinerary if it fulfills above mentioned conditions. Keep in mind to have your onward ticket from Beijing in hard copy.

Hi, thank you for your reply.we are flying from Uk to Tokyo, however we connect our Tokyo flight from Beijing, so will be in Beijing airport for 2 hours. Our cruise is from Tokyo, Nagasaki, Busan, South Korea and taijian, where we dock. Then Beijing for 3 days, then home to Uk.
