I was reading on few forums that it is not applicable to Pakistani passport holders. But it's great to know Pakistani passports are also eligible. Thank you very much for info.

Ahmad, you will, of course, travel using 24 hour visa free transit, so you really don't need any kind of visa. Of course, I assume that this layover is your only one in mainland China. To be allowed to exit the airport and to have a decent sleep in your hotel, you will need to apply for 24 hour free entry permit where you will enclose your accommodation booking confirmation in hard copy. Anyway, you should be aware that this permit is not a passenger's right, but more a privilege that is issued upon a discretion of immigration authorities on the day of your arrival in Beijing.

Pakistani citizens can use 24 hour visa free transit through China in the same way as most other citizenship can, but with the exception of Xiamen and Urumqi airports. Since you are transiting via Beijing, your passport is definitely eligible for this type of TWOV in China. Of course, Pakistanis and others wish to exit the airport in case of long layover and then they are also then they are treated in the same way as others... Sometimes the immigration is benevolent and will grant you an entry permit and sometimes they simply deny it without any explanation. As I have previously mentioned, the issuing of entry permit is not a passenger's right, but a privilege that depends entirely and solely upon discretion of immigration authorities.
