U.S. Citizen Living in South Korea - Visiting China on Cruise

My husband and I are U.S. citizens living in South Korea for business and have U.S. blue tourist passports. We will be on a cruise that visits Xiamen and Hong Kong in October. We will be traveling on the U.S. blue tourist passports for the cruise. The cruise ship told us that we need to have a Chinese visa in the passport upon arrival on the cruise ship. Do I need to go to the Chinese Embassy and one of the CVASCs in Seoul to get two (2) separate visas? I also understand that we need to pay 190,000 won per visa and I need to know if the cost will be 380,000 won or 960,000 won for two (2) separate visas? I understand we need to complete a Visa Category L form, provide a glossy photo, and the itinerary of the cruise. Is there anything else that is needed? I will be submitting my husband's application. Is there any documentation that is needed for me to do this on his behalf or does he need to appear in person to get the Chinese visa?

Dear, you should apply for two separate visas. Bring your passports, two application forms and recent photos, residence permit in South Korea, round trip flight tickets and hotel reservation, and submit the application to CVASC in Seoul. The total cost is 380,000 won for two visas.

If you have enough time, you should try to get a 10-year multi-entry visa by applying in the USA. You can Fed-Ex (or other) your passports to an agency there and they can process it for you. I (a US citizen) used a place called Global Travel at what was the Cofco Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix, AZ (search Global Travel AZ - they have a website). The cultural center is gone but the travel agency is still in business. Everything was handled by mail and in total I paid about $300 for a ten-year multi-entry visa.
