About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I use 144-Hour Visa Free Transit twice?

I am traveling from Europe via Beijing to 3rd country on 11 August. Planned to stay in Beijing 31 hours (incl. 1 hotel overnight). Then I am back from 3rd country via Beijing to Europe on 20 August. Will stay in Beijing 14 hours (no hotel booking).
Can I use 144-Hour Visa Free Transit twice in this case?
And am I allowed to leave Beijing Airport on 20 August if I don''t have a hotel booking?

You are only eligible for 144-hour transit if your layover is more than 24 hours. For layovers within 24 hours, entry to the country is decided on the spot by immigration. Not holding a hotel confirmation may or may not be an issue depending on recent policies which is unfortunately never released to the public.
