About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will I qualify for the 144 hour visa free transit or will this not be regarded as a transit?

If I fly from Singapore to Shanghai and then back to Singapore less than 144 hours later, will I qualify for the 144 hour visa free transit or will this not be regarded as a transit? In other words, is this an eligible route?

You need to continue to a third country before returning through Singapore. Otherwise a visa is required
