About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

I am Indonesian Citizen flight from USA

I want to fly from LAX to Hongkong with a stop in Beijing , my ticket :
29 JUL LAX - PEK 01.40 - 05.20 (+1 / 30JUL)
30 JUL PEK - HKG 1815 - 22.00
and i have reservation hotel from air china, but the location hotel in outside airport
is this possible without visa? or we have to apply visa transit at the beijing airport? I have Indonesia passport.

Dita, the first and the most important detail is that your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit, so you don't need any kind of visa.

As far as your exit from the airport is concerned you will have to apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing. In my opinion, your chances are very good, especially with already booked hotel through Air China. Anyway, you have to know that this entry permit is not passenger's right, but it depends entirely on discretion decision of Chinese immigration on the very day of your arrival in Beijing.

The only way when you can be 100% certain that you will be allowed to exit the airport is to obtain a Chinese transit (G) visa in advance. Anyway, this is not reasonable move for that, relatively short stay in Beijing. So, now when you know your situation and options, it's up to you to decide.
