About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

CAN I ENJOY 144 HRS VISA FREE

Fly from UK transiting Kong Hong on way to Shanghai to board a international cruise ship. I will be staying in a hotel for 2 nights before boarding. First port Japan, 2nd port Hong Kong. Am I eligible for 144 hrs visa free transit.

Yes, since your first port after Shanghai is a third country (Japan). Hong Kong is treated like separate country when it comes to the transit without visa.
