Kunming Immigration

Hi, i will have 2 stops in china. Original Destination Country to Kunming then Shanghai then to my final destination Country. I have like 3 hour layover in Kunming. The total time between arrival in kunming and departing from shanghai will be less than 24 hours. So i am assuming that i can get that 24 hour visa free permit in Kunming so that they can allow me to board the flight to shanghai?? When i researched the internet, i did not find the 24 hour visa option in Kunming.. they only show 144. I am confused. I believe that 24 hour visa free permit option is also there in Kunming. Am i right?? Because from what i understood that 72 or 144 hour is not same like 24 hour option. 24 hour permit allows to go transit again to a second chinese city but the other options dont. Also, does 3 hours of layover in kunming is just about sufficient to get all the required permits before boarding? Thanks..

Neel, your itinerary is not eligible for 144h visa free transit. Please calculate the total stay in China by counting the hours from the first scheduled arrival time to the last scheduled departure time. If your total stay is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy 24h visa free transit; otherwise, you don't.
