@Thomas — We will land @6:00am on our way to singapore and on our way back to NY we will land at 3:20pm.

Also, any guidance on how to navigate the airport. I keep reading that people get held up in Beijing because they go through the wrong door/entrance.

So I would recommend to go to the city, hang out there in the morning, have lunch and go back to the airport after.

Just use the doors with the sign "entrance" and you're fine.
Everything is written in english at the airport.
