About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

144 Guangzhou possible CCU- HKG- CAN and Shenjen -BKK

I am planning to travel with a Family of 4 ( all US citizen ) to Guandong province in August and want to see if there will be issue for getting the 144 hr visa free transit
My route is CCU - HKG - CAN and SHenzen to BKK
I plan to get out on Day 5th ( from arrival) night .

I am almost decided to change the plan now.. it would be like this
1> BKK - CAN ( Flight) Day 1
2> Shenzen to HKG ( either Train or Ferry) Day 4
3> HKG - BKK ( Flight) Day 6

Will it still qualify for 144 visa free Transit? If yes, what is advisable( HS Train or Ferry) and why? please help me with some details.

Basically, the essence of you itinerary that is important for 144 hour visa free transit is:

Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Bangkok

It is true that 144 hour visa free transit is valid for entire Guangdong province, so you are allowed to arrive at Guangzhou and depart from Shenzhen airport.

This itinerary is eligible, but you should have in mind that you have to fly from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Guangdong province.
