About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hours transit visa for Pakistan passport holder

I am Pakistan passport holder travelling from Sydney to Islamabad,Pakistan via Beijing
My layover is around 10 hours i want to stay outside in the hotel do i need to apply for visa .?

First of all, your itinerary is qualified for 24 hours visa free transit and that is the most important detail.

Second, you have two options to exit the airport:

1. You can apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing where you will present your onward ticket and also your hotel confirmation. In case that the layover is during the night hours, your chances are fine, but you should be warned that the issuing of this entry permit is always upon discretion of immigration authorities.
2. You can apply for a Chinese transit (G) visa in advance and by having this visa you will be allowed to exit the airport for certain.

Now, it's up to you to decide whether it is economical for you to pass through the whole process of visa obtaining for such a short time in Shanghai. OK, now you know and you will decide.
