About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Urgent Question! Bought the tickets all ready.

Hi,

I and my girlfriend are Turkish citizens we bought the tickets with this itinerary: Sydney-Guangzhou- Wuhan-Istanbul and returning from Istanbul-Beijing-Shenzhen-Sydney.

My girlfriend went to the airport last night and the airline didn't allow her to go through with this ticket because she has a domestic flight in China. I have the same exact itinerary tomorrow and I was about to cancel it. However, I saw this site and your information.

My flights are within 24-hours. According to your article, I can use the 24-hour direct Transit visa but I couldn't find any information on the embassy's site. Do you think I can use the visa and if the answer is yes, can you show me a piece of official information about this so I can show it to my airline company.

Thank you very much and I would appreciate if you can answer promptly as much as you can.

Yigit, she had some detail that was definitely incompatible with 24 hours visa free transit rules. OK, you didn't give us exact details, so I will not comment about her and the reasons why did her was denied boarding.

Regarding your itineraries, they are both perfectly eligible for 24 hours visa free transit through China, but you should know that the calculation of the entire transit begins at the time of your first scheduled landing, in your case in Guangzhou until your second scheduled departure, in your case from Wuhan. So, you should put into calculation both layovers and the scheduled flight time between the two cities and after you have added up all those segments, you can say whether your entire transit through China is shorter or longer than 24 hours.

By the way, domestic flights within China are perfectly eligible for 24 hours visa free transit purposes abd there is no a single problem regarding it.

As far as official sources are concerned, this is very simple. This is Timatic that every airport staff member can and should consult because there they will find everything clearly explained as far as visa free transits through China are concerned.

I would really appreciate your feedback.
