About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would like some verification,

Planning to visit Beijing, my flight goes from SAT-SEA-PEK, leaving on August 29th, arrives in Beijing on the 30th and then departs back home on the 5th. Does this meet all the requirements for the 144 hour visa free visit? Also would I be letting the airline staff in SEA know I want to use the 144 hour visa free visit or the SAT staff?

Chandler, we miss a third country in your itinerary! You have mentioned only US and China... This is not good enough to be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit. In order to be eligible, you itinerary should look something like this:

US - Canada - China - US
US - China - Hong Kong - US

You itinerary is US - China - US

This is a visit to China and you will need a visa obtained in advance. Of course, you can rearrange your flights if the tickets are flexible.
