About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa Free Transit on Separate itinerary

Hi, if I have Open jaw ticket from US to China (LAX-PVG, PEK-LAX) and I have separate booking to exit PVG within 144HR (PVG-SIN) and another separate booking to go to PEK (KUL-PEK) . Would I qualify for the 144HR transit in both PVG and PEK?

Hi Maria,

Here’s my itinerary, open jaw RT ticket from LAX to PVG/PEK.

10/01: LAX-PVG (open jaw)
10/04: PVG-SIN (separate booking)
10/11: KUL-PEK (separate booking)
10/13: PEK-LAX (open jaw)

Would I be able to transit visa free in PVG and PEK?

Your entire itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit twice in the same way as your previous one with departure from Seattle is. Everything you should take care of is that none of your flights to and from your Chinese destinations have any additional landing within mainland China.
