About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

JFK-HKG | HKG-PVG | PVG-HKG-JFK

I currently have 3 flights already booked: New York to Hong Kong for 6 days, then Hong Kong to Shanghai for 3 days (70 hours), then finally Shanghai to New York with a 4 hour layover in Hong Kong.

Since I'm traveling to Hong Kong BEFORE Shaghai, would the 72 hour visa waiver still apply for my 3 days in Shaghahi?

Transit without visa does not apply because you fly Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong. You need a visa in advance or different flights.
