24-hr transit visa

Am cruising from Kagoshima to Xiamen in mid Oct, do I qualify for the 24-hr visa free transit?

Anthony, you are qualified for 24 hours visa free transit in case that your itinerary looks like this:

Kagoshima - Xiamen - country X (different than Japan and mainland China)

Of course, it can be Hong Kong because it is eligible and is considered as the third country for the visa free transit purposes. Also, you should be aware that your maximum duration of stay should not exceed 24 hours even for a single minute. Your stay is calculated from the scheduled arrival of your cruise in Xiamen until its scheduled departure.
