Unfortunately, Philippine passport holders are not eligible for Shenzhen VOA at the time being, so you are required to apply for a Chinese visa in advance. You can do it in Hong Kong directly through The Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) that is cheaper and you don't have any support in obtaining a visa or through an agency that will support you, but they are also more expensive. If you really want a Chinese visa I would sincerely suggest you to apply for a double entry, six month validity Chinese visa because it is not economically to apply and spend a money for just a single entry visa that you will use just for a day trip across the border.
