Do I need a VISA to fly to Shenzhen with a USA passport?

Do I need a VISA to fly to Shenzhen with a USA passport? I am reading about strict policies in Shenzhen.

Dear, what is your purpose of flying to Shenzhen? Visa is requested for visiting Shenzhen; if you are just in transit in Shenzhen, please specify your itinerary and then I can recognize whether you can enjoy visa exemption transit.

I plan to go to Shenzhen for tourism, vacation. And then I will travel to another country/destination from Shenzhen. But then I will return back to Shenzhen during my final week and fly back home to USA from Shenzhen.
