About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight out of China with technical stop

Hi,
Do I qualify for 144h Transit without visa in Chengdu if I am leaving on a direct flight bound to the US which refuels in China (whole flight one flight number)? When booking, sometimes the technical stop is not even mentioned on the travel itinerary.

e.g. Sichuan Airlines 3U 8699 CTU-LAX (technical stop in Jinan TNA)

Where to get official Information from Chinese Authorities?

You don't qualify for the 144h twov as you have 2 stops in China.

Just the 24h transit allows you to have 2 or more stops in China.

You are not eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Chengdu! Please, take it as a fact and 100% confirmed truth. Otherwise, you will be denied boarding and will just lose significant amount of money. By the way, you won't be able to reach China in the first place because you will be stopped in some foreign airport from where you intend to depart to Chengdu. Official information from Chinese authorities are transferred in its entirety in Timatic. Just consult Timatic and you will realize that you are not allowed to do that. Please, change your flights or apply for a Chinese visa in advance.
