VOA for Canadian passport

Hi
I’m travelling with my Canadian passport, I have never been issued a China visa before . I was born on HONG KONG . Am I eligible to apply for a same day visa to visit Shenzhen? I’m not staying overnight, just day visit

Unless renounced your nationality, you are still considered a Chinese national under law and hence the Shenzhen police may not honor your VOA request. Legally speaking you need to travel with a Home Return Permit and a HKSAR passport every time when visiting China, unless you have renounced your nationality with the HK immigration department.
