About:Chinese Paper-cut Museum

urumqi layover 9 hours

Hi ,I'm flying from Auckland to Guanghou layover 11hours and from Guanghou arrive to Urumchi at 22:30 and layover 9 hours before my next fly to Almaty
my return flight layover in total 23 hours which is means free transit.
Do i need transit visa? not sure whats the rules now.
airlines say i dont need a visa,but i read the comments that i can force to leave airaport in Urumqi if i'm arriving after 22:00.Also there is rules layover in Urumqi must be 2 hours?

Dear, if the stop in Urumqi is below 2h, you will get a 24h transit allowance for China. You will not be able to leave the airport or stay longer in Urumqi than 2h, but you can stay in China for 24h. As for your information, you are requested to get transit visa.
