About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

What type of tourist visa do i need for Shanghai?

I'm meeting my daughter in Shanghai who is working there! We are then hoping to go to Beijing for a few days! Problem is my flight is booked for 2nd July? Can I still get a visa?? Sue McDougal

That's not much time. You need a toursit (L) visa since you will be visiting both Beijing and Shanghai. You will need to apply at the closest CVASC since no time to mail and get back.

1. Complete the Visa Application Form. You can complete the form online and print it out.
2. Make online appointment for your submission of application.
3. Obtain queue number upon arrival at the center and submit your application when your number is called.
4. Pick up your passport on the collection day and pay the fees.

Last option if you are spending 6 days or less in Shanghai, travel Shanghai > Taiwan or Hong Kong > Beijing (up to 6 more days) > Home to try to become eligible for the transit without visa.
