Treatment of Filipino nationals about Shenzhen Visa on Arrival

Thank you very much for the very useful information on this website. As you rightly said, rules regarding the VOA can (and often do) change without notice. My (Filipino) wife's multi-year, multi-entry visa just expired and we need to make an urgent trip to SZ in the next week. How recent is your information that Filipino's with past visas are eligible? And where can one find that piece of information in the first place? I don't think I have seen anything related posted outside that visa office in Lowu, but I could be very wrong! Thank you!

Just curious if you can cite an (official) source on this? I called and they said Filipinos can't get it, even with a prior visa. Getting rejected after crossing the HK control point, which does happen, is certainly not ideal. So if there's a source, it would be helpful if one can point to that should issues during the VOA application process arise.

It will be probably better to call Luohu border crossing because they issue by far the largest number of Shenzhen VOA at (0755)82324022. In reality and according to actual practice, Filipino citizens are granted Shenzhen VOA, but just with presentation of past Chinese visas that were issued by embassies or consulates. Also, it is absolutely necessary to bring that passport where your used Chinese visa is.

There are no official sources, but just recent practice by Chinese authorities. They were allowing Filipino citizens to apply and obtain Shenzhen VOA based on their previously obtained Chinese visas, but as you say that you have called and they have said what you have heard, then the practice of issuing Shenzhen VOA, even in possession of old Chinese visa, is over. This is nothing special, unfortunately, because sometimes the situation changes on daily bases. By reading this forum you can realize that even the citizen of developed countries were denied Shenzhen visa. In reality, Shenzhen visa was never never issued for certain because there is always a possibility to be rejected for some reason.
