About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Leaving to the same airport but WITH 144 visum

I arrived in Guangzhou with 2 returntickets: one back to Istanbul (where I came from) and one to Bangkok. I used the Bangkok ticket to get the 144 hrs visum.
But now 2 days later I decided not to go to Bangkok but back to Istanbul.
Immigration warned me.not to use the Istanbul ticket.
Anyone experience with penalties and so on?

When you fly back to Istanbul, you'll stay illegal in China.

You'll get a fine, a ban for a few years and maybe they won't let you out in worst case.

I mean, the immigration warned you, do you think they are just kidding with you?
I would take this serious.

Hans, please don't do that. As Thomas has already warned you, the repercussions could be very unpredictable and not pleasant at all. Just use your Bangkok ticket and enjoy your life.

You are an idiot to even consider this. I hope you get caught, detained, fined and banned if you do this. Seriously, you don’t want to mess with Chinese police.

Immigration probably did not bother telling you this but pretty sure you have already received a 5-year ban from using visa-free transit. Next time get a visa if you don't want to be treated like a criminal and sent back to where you came from at Chinese border control.

Thx for your advise Zupan, I take it serious and won't take any risk. I will fly to Bangkok and not risk any repercussions.
