Fly Australia to Shanghai. Stay 2 nights in SH and then board a cruise to OZ

So, your itinerary is Australia - Shanghai - South Korea... Of course, you will proceed later to some other destinations, but this is the part that interests Chinese authorities... In case that your flight from Australia doesn't have any additional landing(s) within mainland China, you are definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit. Please, just try to adopt correct terminology because this is not "144 hour free visa" because you will fly without a visa, so 144 hours visa free. I'm telling you this for the purpose of avoiding any possible misunderstandings.
