About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for 24hours visa exempion transit?

I am an Indian citizen, transiting from USA to Dubai and would like to go out of the airport in Beijing during my 12 hour layover time. I was wondering if I'm eligible for that. Thank you for your time and answers in advance.

If your 12 hours layover in Beijing is your only layover in China, i.e. if you are under 24 hours in transit within mainland China, you are covered by 24 hours visa free transit automatically. Anyway, if you want to exit the airport you will have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing. I would say that your chances are fine, especially if you intend to book an accommodation in Beijing, but you have to know that every single entry permit is issued upon discretion of immigration official.
