About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Enter before date versus valid until date

On my previous visa it said enter before date with maximum stay 60 days. On my current one it says valid until date. Is this the same principle i.e. Can I stay another 60 days as long as I enter before the valid until date?

You can stay another 60 days as long as you ask for extension at local PSB upon arrival in China.

I just went to the visa buro and they said (at least for my visa, 12 months 60 days multiple entry) that entry before date ‘means’ the same as valid until date. So I could stay 60 days longer than the day I came in as long as it is before (or on?) the valid until date. No extension was needed.

It is just a language problem or a definition problem. Thanks for answering!
