Tranisting in China, Bejing and Shenzhen

My boyfriend and I are flying to Australia, I hold an Australian passport and my boyfriend an Austrian,
we have to connecting flights, one in Beijing and one in Shenzhen and for both these cities the layover is 15 hours each. We do no intend to leave the airport and we are concerned that a visa is required due to the overall time in China will be 30 hours with both layovers. Does anybody know whether or not we need a visa for our two 15 hour layovers in China?

I would suggest looking at different flights with shorter connection times. Could be a lot cheaper than applying for China visa for each of you. Compare what China visa cost vs alternate flights. Good Luck.

Yes a visa will be needed, double connection in China limits to 24 hours total including internal flights and layovers.

Unfortunately, both of you need a visa to perform this journey. Traveling through more than one transit area automatically limits you to just 24 hours visa free transit. You have exceeded this limit and the visas are inevitable.
