About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Do i need a visa to china?

I have Philippine passport. My itinerary is MNL-CAN (16hrs layover)-PEK (4hrs layover)-LAX. Do I need a visa?
What if my itinerary is MNL-PVG (20hrs layover)-LAX, do I also need a visa?

Jenny, you should just count the time from your first scheduled arrival in mainland China until your last scheduled departure out of China. If the entire time (layovers plus the flight time between mainland China airports) is less than 24 hours, you are fine to travel on 24 hours visa free transit. As I can see, both of your itineraries should be eligible, although it appears that your first option is close to 24 hours. Anyway, even in the first case, if it is less than 24 hours from your landing in Guangzhou until your departure from Beijing, it is fine. Your second itinerary is definitely eligible.
