Hi, I’m a Malaysian passport holder and going to Xiamen, arriving day 1 morning and departing day 5 afternoon. Am I eligible to apply VOA and any documents needed?

Recent reports indicate that Malaysian citizens are discouraged to apply for VOA. I would also suggest you not to travel to Xiamen without a pre-arranged Chinese visa. Of course, it could appear that at that particular day, Chinese immigration has a directive to grant Xiamen VOA to Malaysians, but it could also happen that you arrive in Xiamen and find yourself in the situation where they will demand from you to just buy a ticket for your return home. In any case, if you decide to take your chances, then I would recommend you to bring your flight tickets and your accommodation booking in hard copy.
