Your itinerary is eligible for 24 hours visa free transit. As a Malaysian citizen you cannot get more than 24 hours, so you have to plan your flights accordingly. As far as your possible exit from the airport is concerned, you should apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing. It is advisable that your layover is longer one because only the layovers longer than 8 hours are granted entry permits. Also, if your layover is entirely or partly during the night, you should book your accommodation in advance and have your flight tickets and a confirmation of accommodation booking in hard copy. In the end, you have to know that the issuing of entry permits is always upon discretion of immigration official.
