Thankyou!

You will need a visa in advance to visit Guangzhou unless you fly there and are in transit to a third country within 24 hours.

The first itinerary is definitely eligible, but the second one not because Shenzhen is mainland China in the same way as Guangzhou or Beijing. So, you can fly Hong Kong to Guangzhou, enjoy 144 hours visa free and return to Macau and from Macau to Hong Kong. To be eligible you will need a ticket from Guangdong province to Macau before your boarding in the plane bound for Guangzhou and for the time being, at least as I know, the only real option is to take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Macau because you can buy this ticket online in advance.

If you fly HKG - GZ and have ferry ticket to Macau booked before you fly to Guangzhou then you should be able to to 24 hour transit. HK > GZ > Shenzhen > Hong Hong also requires a visa in advance. Day trip to Guangzhou or Shenzhen are not worth time, effort or money. Stay in HK is usually best bet without a visa

Now I realize what I have written without properly looking that you have Indonesian passport. I apologize because you are not eligible for 144 hours visa free transit. Also, I seriously question the possibility of 24 hours visa free transit because Shenzhen and Guangzhou 24 hours visa free schemes usually don't allow onward travel to Macau & Hong Kong.

I have to add that I apologise because I didn't see that you have mentioned your Indonesian citizenship. Actually, Indonesian citizenship is not eligible for 144 hours visa free transit and I also doubt that you would be allowed to perform 24 hours visa free transit because, as far as I know, it is not allowed to use 24 TWOV at Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports for travels to Hong Kong & Macau. To be honest, I would definitely agree with CDKING in suggestion that you rather stay in HK and not to tray something that is probably unachievable.
