About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can a candanian passport holder still require a visa if he will be in CHina for 72hrs only for busi?

he will arrive China on May 28 @ 20:15pm in Guangzhou airport the depart Guangzhou airport on the 30th of May @ 8:30am? Thanks

If he is visiting China then he needs a visa. If he is in transit to a third country then he may be able to transit without a visa.
