About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

transiting through urumqi

I want to fly through China to Nur sultan from New Zealand. South china fly via Guangzhou and Urumqi. Both ways the stopover in Urumqi is 3 hours. I qualify for the TWOV otherwise but seem to require Visa G to go through Urumqi. Is this right and whats involved

Yes. Special rules apply at Urumqi. You will need a visa.
