About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

visa-free Trip to China

Hello, I've already been in China twice (1y for study and then 2weeks as tourist)

and i always wanted to know if I can use the 144h free visa stay to do a trip in China ?

I'm from France (so Schenghen) can i take a fly to Shanghai like from 1st of july and then go back to France within 144h ? Or will it be weird and no accepted

Might I respectfully suggest that you read the page you posted your question on? I think it’s clear that returning to the country you arrived from is not permitted without a visa. You must be in transit to a third country.

France - China - France doesn't work.
Try to fly Paris - China - Amsterdam - Paris or Paris - Amsterdam - China - Paris with Air France/KLM/China Southern and you're fine to use the 144h twov.
