About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

can I go to the city without visa for 24 hours?

I am holding Indonesia passport and on my way to Germany transit in Peking, can I go to the city without visa for 24 hours?

Hansen, as an Indonesian citizens you are allowed for 24 hours visa free transit through mainland China. Also, you are free to apply, upon landing in Beijing for 24 hours free entry permit in order to be allowed to exit the airport. Whether you will be allowed to exit Beijing airport and explore the city depends on several details:

- Your layover is supposed to be longer than 8 hours
- In case that your layover is during the night it is highly advisable to have accommodation booking confirmation in hard copy
- In the end, you should be aware that every entry permit is dependent upon immigration discretion
