Can I get TWOV to cross by land from Hong Kong?

Hello! I’m interested in visiting Hong Kong and then taking train or bus to Shenzhen for an international flight (to USA) - is this elegible?

No, unfortuantely not. This simple option is out of the question.

Anyway, you have two alternatives:

1. You can take a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and in this way, having in mind that you will depart from Shenzhen directly (without any other landings within mainland China) to US, qualify for 144 hours visa free travel for entire Guangdong province. You can easily take a train from Guangzhou to Shenzhen.

2. You can apply for Shenzhen VOA upon arrival at border crossing between Hong Kong and mainland China (Shenzhen) and use this VOA to stay in Shenzhen and also to take a flight to US from the mentioned city.

Slightly cheaper and a bit less complicated would be the second option.
