About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

I am travelling from New Zealand to Beijing, 4 days later BJ to Vietnam

But the flight stops at the Wuhan Tianhe international airport for 2 hours to swap planes onto Vietnam. Is this okay for the 144 hour free visa?

It is not ok. Two stops limits you to 24 hours transit without visa. You must either get a visa or change your flights.
