Will this be classed as 2 different entries?

Flying from Heathrow to Beijing staying for 3 nights . Then flying to Vietnam staying there for 8 nights. Then flying to Xi'an for 1 night. Then to Beijing next day for flight back to Heathrow .will I need a visa because I have been out of China for 8 nights

For the route Heathrow - Beijing - Vietnam, you can enjoy the 144 hour visa free policy.
For the route Vietnam - Xi'an - Beijing - Heathrow, you can only enjoy the 24 hours visa free policy.
